Additionally, 'D-DAY' topped the iTunes 'Top Albums' charts in 67 countries/regions, including the US, Canada, and Australia, as of 9:00 AM on the 22nd. Tracks from 'D-DAY,' such as 'D-Day,' 'HUH?! (feat. j-hope),' 'AMYGDALA,' 'SDL,' 'Saram Pt.2' (feat. IU), 'Geukya,' 'Interlude: Dawn,' 'Snooze' (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Woosung of The Rose), and 'Life Goes On,' also secured spots in the upper ranks of the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart.
On the 21st, according to South Korea's album sales aggregation site Hanteo Chart, 'D-DAY' sold 1,072,311 copies on the first day of release, achieving million-seller status. This sets a new record for the highest number of first-day sales for a solo artist's album.
'D-DAY' is Suga's first individual work in about three years since the mixtape 'D-2,' released in May 2020. The album conveys a message to focus on the present in a world overflowing with rapid and overwhelming information. The title track 'Haegeum' uses the double entendre of the traditional Korean instrument 'haegeum' and 'lifting restrictions ' to throw the keyword 'freedom' to people who live entangled in various constraints and limitations in everyday life and society.
Suga will be holding his world tour 'SUGA | Agust D-DAY TOUR' in cities such as Belmont Park, Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles, Oakland, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Seoul on the 26th-27th.
