The family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron has alleged that Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, isolated Kim Sae-ron, preventing her from contacting fellow actors, including Kim Soo-hyun himself.

On March 17, the legal representative for Kim Sae-ron's family, Law Firm Buyou, held a press conference at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. During the event, attorney Bu Ji-seok formally submitted a complaint accusing YouTuber Lee Jin-ho of defamation by spreading false information. He also explained the background of the lawsuit to the press.

Kwon Young-chan, head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, who was also present, asserted, "Kim Sae-ron tried to communicate with Gold Medalist, but she couldn't reach Kim Soo-hyun, the agency's CEO, or even the managers. They blocked her from contacting the agency's actors as well, effectively leaving her isolated."

Kwon added, "As soon as Kim Sae-ron uploaded a photo with Kim Soo-hyun, she was contacted within minutes. They told her, 'Let's resolve this, let's handle it properly,' so she took the photo down."

Kwon continued, "The crucial point is that the day after, the second legal notice was sent. Kim Sae-ron had planned to move on February 18, but she ended her life before that could happen. While moving her belongings, the second notice arrived."

Regarding the second notice, Kwon stressed, "It included threatening content stating, 'If you upload such photos again on social media,' 'If you contact anyone at the agency,' or 'If Queen of Tears suffers damage due to these photos,' you'll be held liable for full compensation."

Kwon also remarked, "For Kim Sae-ron, 700 million won was an unimaginably large amount, but for an agency, it's an amount that could have been handled with more patience. Yet, they demanded she pay quickly, threatening legal action if she didn't."

Attorney Bu Ji-seok added, "To summarize the second notice: contrary to the recent public statement from Kim Soo-hyun's side, it wasn't merely a procedural step related to breach of duty. The content clearly demanded that the late Kim Sae-ron repay her debt within a set period. It also warned her not to contact Kim Soo-hyun or other actors at the agency and threatened legal action over her photo upload."

Kim Sae-ron was found deceased last month on February 16.

Earlier, on March 10, allegations surfaced suggesting that Kim Soo-hyun had dated Kim Sae-ron since she was a minor and that during her drunk driving scandal, she had faced financial hardship after being asked by Kim Soo-hyun's agency to pay 700 million won in compensation.

In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, denied any underage relationship claims and stated that the two only dated after both were adults. The agency also denied neglecting Kim Sae-ron financially.
