BTS's V has become the first artist to surpass 2 million initial sales (sales in the first week after album release) for a solo album since the inception of the Hanteo Chart.

According to data released by Hanteo Chart on the 15th, V's solo album 'Layover', which was released on the 8th, has sold a total of 2,101,974 copies, earning him the title of 'Double Million Seller'.

With this achievement, V has set a new record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop solo album. He also becomes the first artist to surpass 2 million initial sales both as a group member (with BTS) and as a solo artist.

The power of BTS is evident even in their solo endeavors. To date, only five solo artists have surpassed 1 million initial sales on the Hanteo Chart. V, Jimin (with 'FACE' selling 1,454,223 copies), and Suga (with 'D-DAY' selling 1,277,218 copies) occupy the top three spots. Notably, all three achieved 'Million Seller' status on the first day of their album releases, underscoring their immense popularity.

V's solo album 'Layover' is titled after the term meaning a brief pause or stopover. It signifies a moment to take a break, reflect on the journey so far, and reaffirm the final destination. The album features a total of six tracks, including the title track 'Slow Dancing', pre-released song 'Rainy Days', 'Love Me Again', 'Blue', 'For Us', and a bonus track 'Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.)'.

V is scheduled to appear on KBS2's 'Music Bank' at 5:15 PM on September 15 (KST).
