BTS Members Jin and J-Hope Navigate Military Service Wisely; J-Hope Releases Solo Physical Album
Members Jin and J-Hope of the worldwide renowned K-pop group BTS are cleverly managing their military service periods.
Last year, on December 13, Jin began his military duties by joining the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. Currently, Jin is serving as an instructor for new recruits in the division.
Following Jin, J-Hope started his military service on April 18th this year, making him the second member from BTS to enlist. J-Hope is also serving as an instructor, but in the 36th Infantry Division located in Wonju, Gangwon Province.
BTS has forecasted that they will make a full-group return in 2025, once some members have completed their military service. In the interim, BTS has been focusing on solo activities and preparing content for their fans to alleviate the disappointment of not being able to meet them in person during their service time.
Today, J-Hope released his solo album 'Jack In The Box (HOPE Edition)' worldwide. Originally introduced as a digital album on Weverse in July, 'Jack In The Box' has now been reborn as a physical album, promising to be a delightful gift for fans.
J-Hope was actively involved in the planning and design of 'Jack In The Box (HOPE Edition)' just as he was with the original. The album features a total of 15 tracks, including the 10 original songs, 3 live recordings from the American music festival 'Lollapalooza', and 2 instrumental tracks.
Moreover, a video titled 'Shujihta', which J-Hope filmed before enlisting, was released last month. J-Hope revealed that he had a plan laid out six months after his discharge and is preparing to release the physical album to celebrate the first anniversary of 'Jack In The Box'. He mentioned that after consulting with fellow member Suga, they decided to release a physical album. J-Hope stated, "We took new photos and redesigned it."
Jin had also released his 'Shujihta' video, which he filmed four days before enlisting, last June. Jin expressed, "I thought fans would like seeing me and Suga together while I'm in the military, which led to its release," elaborating on Suga's persuasion for its debut.
In related news, Suga has been identified as the third BTS member to enlist. BigHit Music announced on the 7th that "Suga has begun the process for fulfilling his military duties" and added, "Suga has completed the request for deferment cancellation, and further announcements regarding his enlistment will be made as they are determined."
During his solo concert 'D-DAY' in Seoul on August 6, Suga hinted at his impending military service, cautiously predicting, "When I perform again in Seoul, I hope all seven of us brothers will stand on the stage together."
