BTS V's 'Layover' Dominates Billboard Hot Trending Chart Ahead of Release, Elevating Anticipation
BTS's V has gripped global fans' anticipation as news of his album release alone has dominated the 'Billboard Hot Trending Chart'.
Slated for a simultaneous global release at 1 PM on September 8 (KST), tracks from V's debut solo album 'Layover' have swiftly taken the top spots on the Billboard Hot Trending Daily Chart.
Due to the explosive support from global fans, the title track 'Slow Dancing' clinched the top spot first, followed by 'Love Me Again' and 'Rainy Days' which alternated to decorate the first position. The title song 'Slow Dancing' exudes a free and languid ambiance reminiscent of 1970s romantic soul.
It brings to mind BTS's solo track, the neo-soul R&B 'Singularity', which previously earned praises as the "ultimate R&B" and was recognized by the UK's Guardian as '2018's Top Track', New York Times as '2018 Song of the Year', and LA Times' '2018 Top Ten Songs'.
V has been lauded for his deep and rich tonal quality and exceptional ability to interpret and perfectly convey complex songs.
From the R&B track 'Love Me Again', characterized by V's uniquely alluring deep vocals, to 'Rainy Days' which pays homage to Old School R&B with a modern sound twist, V's album is filled with rare gems, often hard to find in typical idol songs.
Starting from the 8th, pre-orders for V's album have risen to the top positions on South Korea's official online retailers Yes24 and Aladin. On Japan's largest e-commerce site 'Rakuten', V's album occupied the first to third places in the K-pop/Asia category and also claimed the top spot on Quten. It further solidified V's stature by sweeping the top three positions on Universal Music Store.
The album has also achieved the first and second positions on 'ktown4u', a K-pop album retail site exported to 243 countries globally.
This bold album, which features music videos for all five songs excluding bonus tracks, will kickstart its releases with the 'Love Me Again' music video at midnight on the 10th, followed by the unveiling of the 'Rainy Days' music video and the premiere of both tracks at 1 PM on the 11th.
