BTS Jimin's Solo Tracks Stand Strong in the UK Official Chart's 'Top 40 BTS Songs'
Solo songs from BTS member Jimin are enjoying continued popularity as some of BTS's most iconic tracks in the United Kingdom.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of BTS's debut, the UK Official Chart announced the 'BTS's Official Top 40 biggest songs in the UK' on the 13th. All three of Jimin's solo songs ranked in the Top 40 most successful BTS songs in the UK.
Based on data from the Official Charts Company, this list only includes songs from BTS albums. Jimin's 'Filter,' 'Lie,' and 'Serendipity' ranked 28th, 38th, and 39th, respectively, and he is the only member with all of his solo songs included.
Previously, Jimin's 'Lie' and the intro version of 'Serendipity' were the only solo songs featured on the 2018 Official Chart's 'Top 20 Most Streamed BTS Songs,' and in 2019, they ranked 18th and 20th respectively. In the 2020 'Top 40 Best BTS Songs in the UK,' three out of the four solo songs listed belonged to Jimin ('Lie,' intro version and full version of 'Serendipity'), demonstrating the UK public's special affection for him.
'Filter' from BTS's fourth studio album was one of the first B-side tracks to chart in the 'Official Singles Top 100' - a chart traditionally challenging for non-English songs to enter - without any promotion, alongside the title song 'ON.'
In light of his evident streaming power as the 'BTS Frontman,' Jimin's songs released in conjunction with the start of his official solo activities after 10 years of debut in 2023 sparked explosive reactions. 'Set Me Free Pt.2,' the pre-released track from his first solo album 'FACE,' debuted at 30th, the highest ever for a K-pop solo on the Official Chart. One week later, the title track 'Like Crazy' climbed to the 8th spot, breaking his own record.
Following this, 'Like Crazy,' took over from 'Set Me Free Pt.2,' and charted for six consecutive weeks, achieving a feat of having his collaborative songs 'Vibe' and the Hollywood blockbuster 'Fast & Furious 10' OST 'Angel Pt1' also entering the charts.
In just four months of this year, Jimin has achieved the record of having the most songs (4) by a Korean solo artist on the UK Official Singles Chart in the shortest amount of time, raising the status of K-pop. The expectations are building up for his future endeavors as a solo artist.
