BTS Jimin Sets New Record as 'K-pop Frontman': Tops iTunes Charts in 118 Countries
BTS' Jimin has once again made history as the first and only artist in the world to top the iTunes charts in 118 countries.
Jimin's debut solo album 'FACE' and its title track 'Like Crazy' topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in the Cayman Islands on June 12. This means that Jimin now has a record of reaching number 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in a total of 118 countries.
This is the most number 1 rankings on the iTunes Top Songs chart for any song released in 2023, proving once again that "Jimin breaks his own records." This year, Jimin surpassed his own record that he set last year with the drama OST 'With You,' achieving an "all-kill" by topping the charts in all 119 countries and regions provided by iTunes. This makes Jimin the first and only artist in the world to have two songs that topped the charts in more than 118 countries on iTunes.
Having topped the Billboard Main Singles 'Hot 100' and dominated the iTunes Top Songs chart, Jimin, who has been dubbed the "iTunes King," also holds the record for the most number 1 spots with his solo song 'Filter' from BTS' fourth regular album, which topped the charts in 117 countries.
Furthermore, following 'With You,' which holds the record for the fastest song to reach number 1 in 100 countries on iTunes, surpassing 'Dynamite,' both 'Set Me Free Pt.2' and 'Like Crazy' currently hold the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd spots for reaching number 1 in 100 countries in the shortest period of time, demonstrating the formidable 'Jimin Power.'
Jimin, the world's only artist who has six songs including 'With You' in 119 countries, 'Like Crazy' in 118 countries, 'Filter' in 117 countries, 'Set Me Free Pt. 2' in 113 countries, the collaboration with Taeyang 'Vibe' in 102 countries, and the OST 'Angel Pt.1' from the movie 'Fast and Furious: Ride or Die' in 100 countries, each of which topped the charts in more than 100 countries.
Known as the frontman representing K-pop, Jimin, who released his autobiographical debut solo album 'FACE' on the 10th anniversary of his debut, is not only active domestically but also has made a name for himself as a global pop star who truly encompasses the world through his active solo activities.
