Lucas, a member of the groups NCT and WayV, is leaving the groups after a 2-year hiatus due to personal life controversies.

SM Entertainment, the agency representing Lucas, stated in an official announcement on the 10th, "After careful discussions between our company and Lucas, it has been decided that Lucas will leave NCT and WayV to continue his individual activities."

The statement continued, "We ask for the understanding of the fans who have supported Lucas as a member of NCT and WayV, as this decision was made for the sake of both the members and the fans."

Lucas was engulfed in controversy in 2021 when an individual, "A," claiming to be his ex-girlfriend, exposed his personal life. "A" claimed on SNS that she had been gaslighted by Lucas throughout their years-long relationship, and even after they broke up, he continued to use and demean her by making her do various tasks and cover all expenses, calling him a "sugar baby."

Following this, another individual, Chinese "B," claiming to be another ex-girlfriend, posted on SNS, "Lucas's kindness and love for his fans are just a concept. In reality, he thought of his fans as his harem and exploited their love at his discretion."

At the time, Lucas apologized, stating, "I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my wrong actions," and "I will take a break from all scheduled activities and reflect on my actions."

Lucas, originally from Hong Kong, debuted in 2018 as a member of SM Entertainment's group NCT and later joined WayV and SuperM.
