BTS Jungkook's World Cup Song 'Dreamers' Makes a Fiery Comeback on Worldwide iTunes Charts
BTS Jungkook's World Cup song "Dreamers" has re-entered the iTunes charts, shining a light on its global popularity.
"Dreamers," the official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup, which Jungkook released on November 20th last year, climbed to 114th place on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart (as of May 7th).
Although nearly five months have passed since its release, "Dreamers" simultaneously re-entered the chart and recorded 113 days on the chart. On May 8th, "Dreamers" also ranked 128th on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, marking 114 days on the chart.
Following its release, "Dreamers" achieved No.1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart for 10 consecutive days and topped the European iTunes Song Chart for six consecutive days. Additionally, the song broke records by reaching No.1 in 102 countries/regions within 13 hours, 103 within 2 days, and 104 within 4 days on iTunes Top Songs. "Dreamers" also set an all-time record as the first World Cup song to achieve No.1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in over 100 countries/regions on the first day of release. It showcased powerful music power by topping the iTunes Top Songs charts in major music markets like the US, UK, Japan, France, Canada, Australia, Germany, and Italy.
"Dreamers" also broke records on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, by achieving 100 million streams in the shortest period for a K-pop solo song (35 days) and 200 million streams in the shortest period for a Korean solo song (110 days). Upon its release, it debuted at No.2 on Spotify's Global Chart, setting a new record for the highest debut ranking for an Asian solo artist's song, and spent 86 days on the chart, creating impressive records.
On May 7th, Jungkook set a new world record by achieving 1 billion streams on Spotify in the shortest time for a K-pop solo artist and was officially registered in the Guinness World Records.
