The final journey of comedian Seo Se-won has been arranged.

According to KBS, Seo Se-won's funeral, held at a temple in downtown Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was attended by only a few Korean expatriates, presenting a lonely sight. The bereaved family members were at the airport, seeking information on the process to transport the body back to South Korea.

Seo Se-won's death was sudden. He passed away on the 20th at a hospital in Phnom Penh, where he was preparing to invest and open a business.

Cambodian foreign police believe that Seo Se-won, who had long suffered from diabetes, died suddenly while receiving an injection. As for the nurse who administered the injection, they said, "It is difficult to punish her because she did not receive any money and administered the injection during the interview process."

It has been reported that Seo Se-won had been suffering from diabetes until recently. Park Hyun-ok, a friend of Seo Se-won and former president of the Korean Association, told Newsis, "His remarried wife is devastated and struggling to speak." He added, "Seo Se-won had suffered a lot from diabetes. He was extremely thin, with almost only bones remaining."

Park also revealed that Seo Se-won was in a financially difficult situation. The former president said, "He talked about 'multi-billion won businesses' at Mastum, but there was no money at all." He added, "There was progress in the business, but he was scammed by high-ranking locals and had a hard time."

Broadcaster Seo Dong-ju, who heard of her father's death, has arrived in Cambodia and is heading to her father's funeral. Seo Dong-ju is discussing funeral arrangements with her mother, Seo Jung-hee.

Seo Se-won married Seo Jung-hee in 1982 and had a son and a daughter, including eldest daughter Seo Dong-ju. After divorcing Seo Jung-hee, Seo Se-won remarried a Haegeum player in 2016 and had a daughter.
