Did BTS J-Hope Receive Special Treatment During Enlistment? Army: 'Possible for Regular Soldiers as Well'
There have been suspicions that BTS member J-Hope received special treatment from the army during his enlistment.
J-Hope enlisted at the 36th Division White Tiger Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province, on the afternoon of the 18th. He will begin his military life after completing five weeks of basic military training and being assigned to a unit.
On this day, J-Hope entered the base without any special greeting, and several vehicles, including the one he was in, entered the base as well.
The vehicles carrying regular soldiers showed their enlistment notices at the entrance and received a pass to enter. However, some pointed out that it was unfair that the vehicle J-Hope was in, among others, entered the base without going through the verification process and obtaining a pass.
Additionally, the fact that several vehicles other than those carrying enlisted soldiers entered the base and the possibility that they received passes in advance also raised concerns about fairness and impartiality.
In response, the army told X Sports News, "The basic rule at the 36th Division is that only one vehicle carrying an enlisted soldier can enter the base, but if there are unavoidable circumstances, multiple vehicles can enter even for regular soldiers."
Meanwhile, J-Hope's expected discharge date is October 17, 2024.
