Astro's MJ Visits Late Moonbin's Memorial During Emergency Leave from Military Service
Astro member Moonbin passed away at the young age of 25, and fellow member MJ, who is currently serving in the military, visited Moonbin's memorial during an emergency leave.
According to an OSEN report on April 20 (KST), Astro's MJ learned of Moonbin's passing, requested emergency leave from the military, and visited the late singer's memorial.
A representative from their agency, Fantagio, also confirmed to OSEN, "MJ, who is currently in military service, heard the news this morning and took emergency leave to visit the memorial."
Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 8:10 pm on the 19th. He was 25 years old.
Fantagio released a statement saying, "We are sorry to share the heartbreaking news," and added, "Astro member Moonbin has suddenly left our side to become a star in the sky." The agency further requested, "In light of the sudden news, we sincerely ask that speculative and malicious reports be refrained from so that the grieving family can solemnly pay their respects and say their goodbyes," and added, "Following the family's wishes, the funeral will be held privately with the attendance of family members, close relatives, and company colleagues."
It is reported that fellow team members Jinjin and Sanha visited the memorial late at night and stood vigil, while Cha Eunwoo, who was working in the United States, is hurriedly preparing to return to Korea after hearing the news.
Meanwhile, the funeral will be held privately, and the press will not be allowed to cover the event. The memorial is set up at Seoul Asan Hospital. Moonbin's parents and his younger sister, Moon Sua, a member of the group Billy, are registered as the chief mourners. The funeral procession will take place on the 22nd.
