Lee Chae-yeon Saves IVE's 'I AM' Encore Performance as the Sole Remaining Member on Stage
Singer Lee Chae-yeon single-handedly held IVE's "I AM" first-place encore stage.
On the 19th afternoon, MBC Music's live broadcast "Show Champion" took place at MBC Dream Center in Janghang-dong, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Park Ji-hoon, Kep1er, and Lee Chae-yeon showcased their comeback stages.
IVE's "I AM" took first place, surpassing Kep1er. However, IVE was not included in the broadcast lineup that day. As the encore song for "I AM" began to play without the presence of IVE, the performers left the stage.
But one singer remained on stage: Lee Chae-yeon, who had previously worked with IVE's Jang Won-young and An Yu-jin in IZ*ONE. Lee Chae-yeon stayed in place until the end and danced to IVE's song. She managed to alleviate the disappointment of fans who couldn't see the first-place performance. If it weren't for Lee Chae-yeon, all the singers would have left the stage, and the remaining fans would have been left watching an empty stage while listening to the first-place song.
On the Show Champion homepage, a fan who attended the show left a message saying, "After all the performers came out and IVE was announced as the winner, other singers left, but Lee Chae-yeon remained and danced to "I AM." It was touching."
Meanwhile, Lee Chae-yeon presented her fans with an impressive comeback stage, performing two songs, "I Don't Wanna Know" and "KNOCK."
It was a heartwarming scene as Lee Chae-yeon, who had previously worked with IVE's Jang Won-young and An Yu-jin in the group IZ*ONE, displayed her loyalty.
