BTS leader RM seems to have landed in a bit of hot water after facing criticism and backlash for his upcoming photo folio.

It all started with the Bangtan Boys' new project of expanding their artistic horizons. The BTS members are highlighting their photography talents by dropping individual self-developed photo folios.

Band maknae kicked off the project last month and Namjoon is the next member to release his photo folio "Entirety". However, his photo folio didn't seem to go down well with the audience, many of whom have opined that the teaser pictures from the photo folio have a stark resemblance to that of another K-pop idol, namely D.O. of EXO, whose work is titled "Empathy Mood Sampler Ver.2".

The rising backlash has made the band's fandom, the ARMY, quite concerned and they have asked BTS's labels BigHit and HYBE to do something about it. They have since then trended the hashtag #BIGHITPROTECTNAMJOON on Twitter, showing their support for RM.

Meanwhile, BTS has created history by winning its fourth "Group of the Year" award at the 2022 MTV VMAs. The megastars were nominated alongside fellow K-pop idols BLACKPINK, as well as Måneskin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Silk Sonic, Imagine Dragons, and City Girls.

Incidentally, the seven members of the iconic band were absent from the award show that took place at New Jersey's Prudential Center.

BTS first won the "Best Group" award in 2019 and again in 2020. In 2021, the award category was renamed "Group of the Year", and BTS won in this category again.

This year, in addition to "Group of the Year", BTS bagged nominations in the categories of "Best Metaverse Performance", "Best Choreography", "Best Visual Effects", and "Best K-Pop".

Band member Jungkook also bagged an individual nomination for his collab song with Charlie Puth titled "Left and Right". BTS's labelmates SEVENTEEN won the "Push Performance of the Year" for their track "Rock with You".

The Bangtan Boys are presently on a break from group activities and are pursuing their respective endeavors. The seven members will come back together in October for their global concert in Busan that they will host as the Korean government's honorary ambassadors.

The Busan Concert, scheduled for October 15, is titled "Yet To Come", and it will take place at the Busan Ilkwang Special Stage at 6 PM KST. The concert will be streamed live on Naver Now, ZEPETO, and Weverse.

In other news, BTS has earned the No. 2 rank for August's Singer Brand Reputation Rankings with a brand reputation index of 7,404,133, showing a 38.84 percent rise in their score since July.
