Samuel Kim released a statement following the dismissal of embezzlement and forgery charges against his former agency, Brave Brothers. He said it was disappointing that the police will not be pursuing the case anymore, but even so, he has not given up yet.

In 2019, Samuel announced that he would start promoting as an independent artist, but the problem at that time is that he is still under contract with Brave Brothers. Thus, after his announcement, the agency said that Samuel's decision was one-sided, so it expressed plans to take legal action.

Samuel's mother then filed a legal complaint against Brave Brothers as she claims they tried to settle the case quietly as Samuel also wants to protect the agency's image. However, Brave Brothers distorted the story a lot and made it appear that the artist was in the wrong, so the next option was the lawsuit to protect her son, who was still a minor.

Aside from filing a contract nullification, Samuel also filed a separate criminal complaint against the agency. He accused the company of fraud, embezzlement, and forgery. This week, the result of the filing was revealed, and it was reported the authorities cleared the CEO of Brave Brothers from all the charges. The police declared him innocent after the investigation due to a lack of evidence.

Now, Soompi published Samuel Kim's official statement on June 30, where he said that while the police decided not to forward the case to the prosecution, it does not mean that the incident is now closed or it has ended.

This is because he is planning to appeal and make a request for a more thorough re-investigation because there could be some shortcomings that led to the decision. The 19-year-old also stressed he has enough evidence to prove that the verdict was wrong.

"I find it regretful that even though I provided evidence related to the above charges and requested an investigation while cooperating with the police as much as possible," he said. "I have decided to break my long silence, and by fighting with Brave Entertainment and Brave Brothers until the very end, I hope that the details of what is true and what has not become clear to not only the Korean judicial system but to the public as well."
