SHINee's Onew Is Now Officially Discharged From Soldier Status
Onew has finally returned to SHINee World (SHINee's fandom) after a year and seven months of successful mandatory military service!
In December 2018, the leader of SHINee- Onew enlisted in the military as an active-duty soldier. He is the first SHINee member to be discharged in the military as Key and Minho started service in March and April 2019.
As reported by Allkpop, SHINee's Onew will be taking his final leave "unofficially" in the military on July 8 due to COVID-19 precaution measures.
The idol's label, SM Entertainment, shared a statement saying that the news about Onew leaving the mandatory service was real. He will officially be discharged from his soldier status on July 20 without returning to the military base.
According to the Hellokpop, SHINee celebrated its leader's return by posting Onew on its official Twitter account. And after the good news was spread, the Shawols (SHINee World) actively sent their warmest welcome to the idol returnee through comments and tweets.
Besides posting snapshots of his victorious military service, Onew also shared a hand-written letter to his fans, showing his gratitude and love.
The letter says the excitement of the idol to meet his fans. He expressed his thanks to SHINee World for patiently waiting for him while still serving the military. He continued, "Let's try to meet more often! Let's have fun and sing together for a long time!"
With the uncontained happiness and excitement, Onew also shared his recorded message to fans on the official webpage of SHINee.
With greetings, Onew said in his recorded message that he would try to impress his fans even more since they have waited for him with so much love. He also requested his supporters to remain in a bit for his comeback to the limelight.
And while Minho and Key are still on the military base to continue to oathed service, maknae Taemin's enlistment plan is yet to announce.
