Red Velvet's Irene & Seulgi Released Debut 'Monster' MV Teaser
Highly anticipated tandem Red Velvet's Irene and Seulgi just released their MV teaser for "Monster" on June 3!
According to OSEN, the unit's upcoming track "Monster" combines relaxed and charismatic vocals, intense melody, and conceptual lyrics. Fans highly anticipate the release of the said track since it will be showing another version of the girls.
From June 29, "Irene and Seulgi" sequentially released teaser images that revealed the girls' transformation with a new concept. And finally, on June 3, the MV teaser was released via SMTown Channel on YouTube and Naver TV.
As expected, the MV teaser did not disappoint the fans. Irene and Seulgi, as shown in the 18-second video, showed an edgy and on-point performance with elegance and power. "The title song is a mix of intense dub-step sound in the heavy-base genre. So powerful, energetic move," SM said.
Irene and Seulgi debuted as members of Red Velvet, along with Wendy, and Joy, on August 1, 2014, with the digital single "Happiness." Meanwhile, Yeri was added to the group in March 2015.
Since debut, Red Velvet has already released two studio albums, one compilation album, one repackaged album, and nine extended plays.
Eleven of Red Velvet's tracks topped on Gaon Album Chart. The girls also received several awards for their fantastic music, including the Golden Disc New Artist Award on the 2015 and Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Female Group in 2017.
In addition, Red Velvet won Song of the Year Award for "Umpah Umpah" at the Asia Artist Award and Stage of the Year at the Soribada Best K-Music Awards in 2019.
On April 21, SPOTV News announced that Seulgi and Irene are gearing for a sub-unit debut (the first for Red Velvet), according to Soompi. The two initially gained attention for their performance video of "Be Natural" through SMROOKIES SR14G.
Irene & Seulgi's "Monster" will hit streaming sites at 6 PM KST on Monday, July 6!
