Jeon Somi has been feeding her fans contents of her preparations for her comeback on her reality show I Am Somi.

I Am Somi is a daily vlog series about Jeon Somi’s life as a 20-year old that was released on The Black Label’s official YouTube channel. The reality show has a total of 6 episodes, covering from Somi’s high school graduation up to her comeback preparations.

The idol revealed that she has been actively participating in writing the lyrics for her new album. It can also be seen in the series that she has been recording a lot.

In the last episode of the show, BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Somi were in the studio where Lisa gave tips to Somi to improve her choreography. Jeon Somi also explained in the final episode that she was supposed to have her comeback by the end of the her reality show. However, there has been a delay and that she apologizes for it.

She explained that she wanted to shoot overseas for her music video, but due to the pandemic going on around the world, there were no flights available in and out of the country. This is the main cause of the delay.

After apologizing for the delay, Jeon Somi hinted that there might be a second season for her reality series I Am Somi.

Back in 2018, Somi made headlines when she announced that she is no longer with JYP Entertainment. She has been with JYPE since 2014 and was rumored to debut with JYP’s new girl group ITZY.

A month after leaving JYP, Somi signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment's subsidiary label, The Black Label. Jeon Somi finally made her long-awaited solo debut on February 2019 under her new agency.

After more than a year of hiatus since her debut, Jeon Somi is finally making a comeback. The agency are still to release an official date.
