The family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron has announced plans to publicly reveal digital forensic evidence to substantiate their claim that Kim Sae-ron was in a relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun while still underage.

On March 26, legal counsel Bu Ji-seok representing Kim Sae-ron's family issued an official statement saying, "A press conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. on March 27 in Seocho-gu, Seoul, where we plan to disclose evidence proving that the late actress was in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun during her minor years."

The family's side emphasized, "While Kim Soo-hyun's representatives have consistently maintained that the relationship lasted for about one year after Kim Sae-ron became a legal adult, we have long asserted that the relationship lasted approximately six years, from 2015 to 2021. Through digital forensic analysis, we have now secured materials that clearly prove the timeline."

During the press conference, the family also plans to announce their legal response to malicious comments and the spreading of false information directed at Kim Sae-ron's surviving relatives.

Previously, the two sides have shown a sharp divergence in their claims regarding the timing of the relationship. Kim Soo-hyun's camp has stated, "The relationship began only after Kim Sae-ron reached adulthood, and it did not last long."

In contrast, the family contends, "Photos, messenger conversations, and testimony from people close to the deceased all support our timeline," and reaffirmed their commitment to taking a firm stand against the ongoing speculation and misinformation even after Kim Sae-ron's passing.
