Global sensation BTS member Jimin, currently serving in the military, has shared his thoughts after being honored with a Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2024 MAMA Awards.

On November 23, Jimin posted a heartfelt message on the global fan platform Weverse, expressing his gratitude to ARMY. "I've come here today with some truly amazing news. I'm still a soldier, but to receive a Daesang? How can you give me such an incredible gift? I'm overwhelmed with gratitude," he wrote.

Jimin revealed that he has been spending a lot of time chatting with fellow BTS member Jungkook, who is also currently serving in the military. "We've been talking a lot about what songs we should share with you and what performances we should show after we're discharged. Just thinking about it fills me with excitement," Jimin said.

He continued, "Amidst all of this, to receive such a major award-I'm honestly speechless."

Promising to repay fans, Jimin said, "When the day comes for me to give back to all of you, the best gift I can offer will be delivering an incredible performance. Of course, I'll strive to grow even more and show you an even better version of myself, so please look forward to it. I love you, ARMY."

The award was presented during Chapter 1 of the MAMA Awards, held on November 22 at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. Actor Byun Woo-seok announced Jimin as the winner of the VISA Fans' Choice of the Year, one of the four prestigious grand prizes.

Jimin enlisted in the military last December but has remained a global force in music. Before his enlistment, he completed work on his solo second album, MUSE, which was released in July. Its title track, "Who," has made a significant impact on international charts, including a remarkable 17-week streak on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, underscoring his enduring popularity.

Jimin's heartfelt words and dedication to his craft have left fans eagerly anticipating what the future holds for the BTS star. Despite his military service, his connection with ARMY remains unbreakable, and his recognition at the MAMA Awards further cements his legacy as a global icon.
