BTS Jimin's 'Like Crazy' has been crowned as the most streamed Korean song on Spotify for 2023, shining light on its popularity. 'Like Crazy' achieved this milestone by recording 770 million streams throughout the year after crossing 700 million streams in just 249 days since its release. It became the most streamed K-pop solo song and Korean song on Spotify.
As of January 3rd, 'Like Crazy' had garnered over 784.26 million streams, making it the 9th most streamed song on Spotify for 2023. This achievement is notable as 'Like Crazy' is the only K-pop solo song and Korean song to make it into the top 10.
Jimin's achievement on Spotify, a platform where European, North American, and South American users are dominant, is a significant source of pride for K-pop. 'Like Crazy' has maintained its position in Spotify's Global Daily Chart for 285 days, marking the longest record for a K-pop song. It also continued to chart in the Global Daily Artists Chart for 210 days.
'Like Crazy' was the first K-pop solo song to achieve the No.1 spot on Billboard's main singles chart 'Hot 100' and remained in Spotify's US Daily Chart for 120 days, setting the record for the third-longest-charting Korean song and the longest for a solo act in history.
Since the launch of Spotify in Korea in 2021, 'Like Crazy' became the first song to reach 20 million streams, and as of January 3rd, it topped the Spotify Korea Daily Chart for 100 days. It has been charting for a total of 515 days, including 356 consecutive days.
Jimin also set a Guinness World Record for being the fastest K-pop solo artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify within just 393 days of creating his personal profile. He subsequently reached 2 billion streams in 526 days and 2.3 billion in 578 days. In 2023 alone, he accumulated 2.39 billion streams.
