BABYMONSTER Makes a Striking Debut with 'BATTER UP' Performance Video, Exudes Unique Aura
YG Entertainment's new girl group BABYMONSTER has finally unveiled the full version of their debut song 'BATTER UP' performance, garnering intense global attention.
On December 4, YG Entertainment posted "BABYMONSTER - 'BATTER UP' DANCE PERFORMANCE (DEBUT SPECIAL)" on their official blog. Dressed in vibrant orange point military looks, BABYMONSTER exuded a unique aura, capturing attention from their very appearance.
Their performance, full of hip-hop swagger yet energetic, demonstrated the members' solid skills through dynamic group dances and smooth control of intensity. Their confident and varied facial expressions further enhanced the immersion, making it impossible to look away.
The white-toned horizon set, combined with multi-angle camera movements and lighting using black and red, magnified the details of BABYMONSTER's performance, adding to the viewing pleasure.
The 'BATTER UP' performance was perfected by a collaboration between choreographer Chae Dasom, YGX-affiliated dancers, and world-renowned choreographers KYLE HANAGAMI and KIEL TUTIN. The point dance moves, mimicking swinging a bat and looking over a fence, are already trending on various global social media platforms, hinting at the song's burgeoning popularity.
Additionally, BABYMONSTER surprised fans with a video letter, sharing heartfelt messages in various languages, thanking global fans for their journey to debut. The members expressed their overwhelming debut feelings and ambitious plans, stating, "We will soon visit you in many different ways, showing our limitless potential."
BABYMONSTER made a splendid debut on November 27 at midnight with 'BATTER UP'. This dynamic track features a catchy hook part and a powerful bass line, complemented by the members' deep vocals and swift rapping, embodying YG's signature hip-hop energy and receiving critical acclaim.
Especially, the music video is gaining popularity in various global indicators. It secured the first place in the Global YouTube Daily Popular Chart for five consecutive days and topped the weekly chart. Right after its release, the video became 'the most viewed video within 24 hours' and broke the K-pop group debut record with 22.59 million views in a day, surpassing 50 million views in about four days and currently exceeding 66.26 million views.
