A concerning incident was captured during a performance by IVE's An Yujin, where firework smoke entered her eyes, raising questions about artist safety on stage.

Following the broadcast of the '2023 Ulsan Summer Festival' special stage on 'Show! Music Core' held on the 5th, a fan-cam video of IVE's performance has been gathering significant attention online.

During IVE's performance of "I AM", a pyrotechnic effect burst on stage, and the smoke went directly into Ahn Yujin's eyes while she was singing. As a result, Yujin struggled to open her eyes and continued her performance, visibly wincing.

The fan-cam footage from the venue showed Ahn Yujin lowering her head, presumably to hide her discomfort from the audience. The video quickly spread online, prompting reactions from netizens praising her professionalism with comments like, "She's a real pro" and "It must have hurt so much; she's incredible."

However, concerns overshadowed the praises. Many fans expressed worry over An Yujin's well-being and criticized the production team for placing the artist in such a hazardous situation. The incident was edited out when the 'Show! Music Core' performance was broadcast, further fueling the controversy.

In the edited version, the scene switched to a wide shot when the firework exploded, later transitioning to a solo shot of member Liz. An Yujin was seen moving backward with her eyes closed. This led netizens to comment, "Setting off fireworks right in front of her looked dangerous," criticizing the production team for their perceived negligence regarding safety.

While impressive stage effects add value to performances, many argue that an artist's safety should always be the top priority. Both the broadcasting company and the event organizers have remained silent on the issue so far. The incident serves as a stark reminder that production teams must prioritize artists' safety and take prompt measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
