Singer Jeon Somi's team has apologized for suspicions of character tracing in the music video for her new song, 'Fast Forward'.

On the 9th, her agency, The Black Label, said, "After the release of Jeon Somi's new EP title track 'Fast Forward' music video, we immediately reviewed feedback suggesting a similarity between an animation character in the video and another work's character. We have decided to delete and edit the concerning scene."

They added, "We will promptly replace the scene and take all possible measures." Bowing in remorse, they stated, "As an agency, we deeply apologize for not scrutinizing the work more carefully and causing concerns."

Finally, they commented, "We will be more cautious to prevent such incidents in the future."

Previously, on the 7th, Jeon Somi made her comeback with the release of her new EP 'GAME PLAN' and its title track 'Fast Forward'. Especially notable was the 'Fast Forward' music video, which garnered global attention, immediately ranking first on YouTube's Worldwide Trending Chart after its release.

However, some pointed out that a character appearing in the music video bore a striking resemblance to the drawing style of famous Japanese manga artist Rumiko Takahashi's 'Urusei Yatsura', raising suspicions of 'tracing'. Tracing refers to the act of drawing directly over an original.

Rumiko Takahashi, an active manga artist, is also renowned in South Korea for popular animations such as 'Inuyasha' and 'Ranma 1/2'. Her distinctive drawing style is familiar to numerous fans in the country.

In light of the suspicions, the agency initially responded on the 8th, stating they were "checking on it." A day later, on the 9th, they extended a deep apology, expressing regret for not examining the content more thoroughly.
