September Showdown: YG's Baby Monster, SM's RIIZE, and GRID's POW All Set for Debut
This September, the debut of new idol groups from YG, SM, and GRID entertainment agencies are eagerly anticipated.
K-pop fans are showing immense interest in the looming September debut showdown, which is expected to be fiercer than ever. The bands have already stirred up considerable excitement, forming fandoms even before their official member introductions.
First up is BabyMonster, YG Entertainment's first girl group in nearly seven years since Blackpink. The septet - comprised of Korean members Ah Hyun, Ha Ram, Lo Ra, Thai members Parita and Chikita, and Japanese members Ru Ka and Asa - has already gained a significant fan following through their debut reality show.
YG's Yang Hyun-suk is leading the production for BabyMonster. Their debut track is said to be a powerful hip-hop number. There have been rumors about YG inviting famous overseas producers to Korea and organizing multiple song camps for BabyMonster's debut album, raising curiosity and anticipation.
In addition, news about the debut of two boy groups in September was shared on the 1st. SM Entertainment's RIIZE and GRID Entertainment's POW are set to debut.
SM has revealed the seven members of RIIZE - Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee and Anton. The team, which includes NCT alumni Sho Taro and Sung Chan, as well as Anton, known to be the son of Yoon Sang, has attracted significant attention since the reveal.
The team name RIIZE is a combination of 'Rise', meaning 'to grow', and 'Realize', meaning 'to make real', symbolizing a team that grows and realizes dreams together. RIIZE is expected to deliver 'Emotional Pop', a genre that incorporates a wide range of emotions.
GRID Entertainment, founded by a creative group including representative Shim Hye-jin who previously worked in well-known large agencies, is a comprehensive entertainment company. Recently, they incorporated 131 Label, which includes B.I and Reddy, thereby increasing their influence.
The first team GRID will unveil is a 5-member boy group, POW. POW includes Thai actor Yochi, who has over 2 million personal SNS followers, and SBS 'LOUD' alumni Yoon Dong-yeon, Jeong Bin, Hyun Bin, and Hong.
