Soyou Reflects on the Unforgettable Summer after SISTAR's Disbandment: Discusses Reunion and Desires to Not Add Pressure
Soyou has chosen the first summer after SISTAR's disbandment as her most memorable one and shared her thoughts on a potential SISTAR reunion.
Soyou's second mini-album 'Summer Recipe' media showcase took place on July 26 in the afternoon at Ilji Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
"Summer Recipe" is a new album created by Soyou in response to those who missed SISTAR's signature summer songs. The title track "ALOHA" was elevated in its completion with Bora's participation in featuring, and the song was produced by Brave Brothers, who have created many hit songs for SISTAR.
Soyou revealed, "Many people miss SISTAR in the summer and want to listen to that style of music. So I thought, 'Let me fill that gap,' and directly asked Brave Brothers for help."
However, Bora's feature was not decided from the beginning. Soyou explained, "After hearing the song, I thought only Bora could do it, so I let her listen to it. She also happily agreed to feature after hearing it."
What was the reaction of the members who heard Soyou's SISTAR-style summer song "ALOHA"? Soyou shared, "They said they liked it. We had something like a listening session. Each person's opinion was a little different. Dasom personally said she likes 'Drivin' Me.' Hyolyn said it was more of a song that I could do, and Bora told me that the recording went well after recording."
Celebrating her 14th year since debut, "Summer Queen" Soyou chose the "summer after SISTAR's disbandment" as the most memorable one. Soyou recalled, "It's simpler than you think. It seems like it was the first summer I had after SISTAR's disbandment. I never really enjoyed summer because I was always active during that season. It felt very strange not to be active in the summer."
As she made a comeback with a "SISTAR-style summer song," questions about SISTAR's reunion continued during the showcase. Soyou cautiously opened up, "When I meet with the members, we often talk about 'when would it be good for us to get together again.' It's difficult for me to say something concrete alone."
Soyou added, "Everyone is busy with various activities, so it's hard to align our schedules. We are trying not to be a burden to each other. 'Don't give up on that too' is how careful we are. Wouldn't it be good to match the timing and come out as a gift to the fans?" showing off the ever-lasting friendship of SISTAR.
Meanwhile, Soyou's second mini-album "Summer Recipe" was released on various online music sites at 6 pm on July 26.
