Incoming Sensation: BabyMonster, The Monster Rookies Following 2NE1 and Blackpink, to Make Their Debut in September
The highly anticipated K-pop group BabyMonster, touted as 2023's hot rookies, have announced their debut set for this coming September.
BabyMonster, the new girl group launching from YG Entertainment, is making waves as the first major debut from the company since Blackpink around seven years ago. Following the release of their first teaser video on January 1st, the group has spent around five months teasing various content and finalizing the selection of the members for their seven-member lineup.
The multinational group, featuring members from South Korea (Ah-Hyun, Ha-Ram, Ro-Ra), Thailand (Pharita, Chiquita), and Japan (Ruka, Asa), is comprised of top talent who joined YG as trainees after enduring a grueling selection process with odds of thousands to one. These members have shown an exceptional level of skill in the released content, garnering praise as an 'all-rounder' group excelling in vocals, rap, performance, and visuals.
Since the official lineup was confirmed, the voices of fans anticipating BabyMonster's debut have amplified. The general producer, Yang Hyun-suk, stated, "The debut will not be delayed past this fall." Recently, YG Entertainment confirmed that they are working towards a September debut and are in the midst of final stages, including choreography and music video production.
YG has invited renowned producers from around the world for numerous song camps, securing multiple tracks for Baby Monsters' album, including the debut song, and is making swift progress with follow-up projects.
The emergence of BabyMonster, the successor to their sister groups 2NE1 and Blackpink from YG, has already got global fans in a frenzy of excitement. Previously, 2NE1 revolutionized the girl group landscape with their fierce 'girl crush' charisma, while Blackpink dominated the global market with their sophisticated music and fashion, exercising significant influence.
The debut of BabyMonster, YG's first-ever seven-member girl group, is attracting keen interest as fans anticipate how they will distinguish themselves with their unique music and charm compared to their senior groups.
According to reports, BabyMonster's new song is a powerful hip-hop track, continuing the 'YG style' lineage of 2NE1 and Blackpink. Fans are highly interested in the group's official debut track, especially after they showcased their harmonious sensibilities with the pre-debut song 'DREAM'.
Notably, even before their official debut, BabyMonster have already reached 3 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel and accumulated 500 million total views, heralding the birth of the 'monster rookies' with robust skills and strong global appeal.
