'King The Land': Love Blooms on the Edge of a Cliff, as Lee Jun Ho and Im YoonA Push Ratings Beyond 12%
The intense, heart-wrenching romance between Lee Jun-ho and Im YoonA on the hit JTBC drama "King The Land " has audiences on the edge of their seats.
On the 2nd, in the sixth episode of "King The Land," the connection between Guwon (played by Lee Jun-ho) and Cheonsarang (Im YoonA) deepened, drawing the characters and viewers closer as they battled life and death situations together. As the romance between Guwon and Cheonsarang progressed, the drama saw its highest ratings yet, hitting 12.6% in the metropolitan area and 12% nationwide. The peak minute rating recorded an impressive 14.4% (according to Nielsen Korea), proving the drama's steadily rising popularity.
Upon hearing of Cheonsarang's disappearance in the mountains, Guwon immediately sprang into action, even defying his sister Gu Hwaran (played by Kim Sun-young) to courageously launch a helicopter for a daring rescue. To Guwon, Cheonsarang isn't only someone he has feelings for but also a staff member he's responsible for, thus prioritizing her life over any costs.
Finding solace and strength in Guwon's arrival in the wilderness, Cheonsarang burst into tears of relief and gratitude. Their escape from the brink of a cliff became possible with the timely arrival of Shimmani, bringing them closer together.
Cheonsarang decided to give Cheon Jong-sam, which she found in the mountains, as a gift to Grandma Cha Soon-hee (Kim Young-ok). Wanting to spend more time with Cheonsarang, Guwon decided to accompany her to Cha Soon-hee's place, where he was swiftly recruited to help with onion peeling, leaving a bitter first impression.
Cheonsarang, appearing just in time, rescued Guwon from his onion peeling task and led him to a market filled with various foods and entertainments. After a lengthy attempt, the two managed to win a giant carp-shaped taffy, which sparked a moment of joy and laughter as they hugged each other.
Moreover, when a sudden loud noise startled them, Guwon instinctively embraced Cheonsarang to protect her, which made her heart flutter. Even though the sound came from a popcorn machine, Cheonsarang found herself drawn to Guwon's reliable demeanor, further stirring a peculiar tension and excitement between them.
The changing dynamics of their relationship took a sudden turn when a VIP guest at King The Land's luxurious birthday party was seen clinging to Guwon. This, coupled with the rumor that Guwon was to marry her, unleashed a storm of thoughts in Cheonsarang's mind.
In an attempt to distract herself, Cheonsarang was having a party with her friends at her home when she heard the doorbell ring. Instead of the expected delivery person, she found Guwon, which left her startled. The reason for Guwon's sudden visit to Cheonsarang's home, and whether she can clear up the misunderstanding and open her heart to Guwon again, are stirring curiosity among viewers.
Meanwhile, the seventh episode of JTBC's weekend drama "Kingderland" will be aired at 10:30 pm on July 8.
