Red Velvet's Irene And Seulgi Are Set To Debut As A Sub-unit With 'Monster'
Reveluvs are hyped up as Red Velvet’s official Twitter page @RVsmtown revealed a teaser image for Irene and Seulgi’s upcoming first mini-album “Monster." The album will contain six songs of various genres. The duo is set to debut as the first sub-unit of Red Velvet on June 15, 2020.
Red Velvet’s fans expressed support and excitement, claiming that the album fits the image of Irene and Seulgi as both are known to be “monsters” on stage for their charisma and talent in every performance. The fans are already calling them the “monster duo” or “fantastic duo."
The two members were seen filming on May 20 at Baegot Hanul Water Park, which raised the suspicions of the fans that they were filming for their MV, making them wonder what the concept of the album would be, Allkpop reported. The remaining members of Red Velvet are focusing on individual activities.
Wendy, who was recently discharged from the hospital, collaborated with Block B’s Zico for the ongoing drama The King: Eternal Monarch OST “My Day Is Full Of You." They released an MV on May 16, featuring moments between Kim Go Eun and Lee Min Ho, the leads of the said drama.
A few days after “My Day Is Full With You” was released, Crush and Red Velvet’s Joy also released a fun and homey MV for their collaboration “Mayday." Joy was known to be a big fan of Crush, she now calls herself a “successful fan."
Meanwhile, the youngest member Yeri, hints that she will have her own reality series soon. She has been asking her fans what kind of content they’d want to see from her, Allkpop reported. Reveluvs have a lot to look forward to this year for each member and as a whole group.
Red Velvet took the fourth spot for The Korean Business Research Institute’s brand reputation rankings for girl groups for the month of May.
The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes of various girl groups, using big data collected from April 10 to May 10, Soompi reported.
