BTS Jin's Mesmerizing Voice Captivates Audiences: 'Yours' Surpasses 140 Million Streams on Spotify
The popularity of BTS member Jin's solo track, "Yours," continues to shine as it surpasses 140 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
As of June 26, Jin's first solo OST, "Yours," surpassed 140 million streams on Spotify (as of June 27, it has been played 140,118,554 times). The song, which is the main theme for the tvN drama 'Jirisan', is a deeply appealing tune, combining a lyrical and melancholic melody with Jin's dreamlike voice.
Upon its release, "Yours" captured the ears of listeners worldwide as a high-quality song that expanded the narrative of the drama. It entered the Spotify Korea 'TOP200' chart at 6th place and has stayed on the chart for 184 days. Additionally, it was on the Spotify Korea 'TOP200 Weekly Chart' for 25 weeks and the Spotify Japan 'Viral 50 Weekly Chart' for 12 consecutive weeks.
Jin has surpassed 100 million streams for a total of five solo songs on Spotify: "Yours," "The Astronaut," "Epiphany," "Moon," and "Awake." As of June 23, his nine credited songs have surpassed 1.1 billion streams on Spotify (as of June 27, 1,105,074,619 plays).
As of June 26, Jin's solo songs' streaming counts on Spotify include "Epiphany" from the 'Love Yourself: Answer' album at the top with 239.8 million, followed by "Moon" from the 'Map of the Soul:7' album with over 184.97 million streams, and "Awake" from the 'Wings' album with over 121.15 million streams.
His most recently released song, "The Astronaut," has been streamed over 187.6 million times. With last year's officially registered songs "Super Tuna", "Abyss", "Tonight", and the drama OST "It's You" sung with V, a total of over 1.15 billion streams has been achieved.
Jin's first solo OST, "Yours," has reached No. 1 in a total of 104 countries on iTunes, starting with Indonesia and followed by the United States, France, Japan, and Papua New Guinea. Notably, it achieved No. 1 on iTunes Top Song charts in a total of 80 countries just 7 hours and 30 minutes after its release, and reached No. 1 in 90 countries after just 31 hours, garnering explosive reactions.
"Yours" has set the record for the longest No. 1 spot on Shazam's Global Chart, a major music search platform, by a K-pop artist with 102 days, and currently holds the second-longest record after Jin's "The Astronaut."
In addition, it set a record for the longest No. 1 spot by a foreign artist on the Shazam Japan Chart, with a chart run lasting 569 days, demonstrating its powerful longevity. Currently, Jin's "The Astronaut" holds the record for the longest No. 1 spot at 231 days.
Released in November 2021, "Yours" set numerous new records amidst significant buzz. Even a year and a half after its release, the song continues to receive immense love and break records thanks to Jin's inherent talent and exceptional musical skills, despite the lack of any promotion.
