BTS SUGA Wraps Up 'D-DAY' World Tour in Seoul, Encore Concert Slated for August
BTS's SUGA successfully concluded his 'SUGA | Agust D-DAY TOUR' in Seoul, lighting up the city with his performances.
On the 24th and 25th of June, SUGA held the 'SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' in SEOUL' at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. With the completion of the Seoul performances, which attracted over 15,000 attendees, SUGA has wrapped up his epic world tour that started in April, spanning 10 cities and 25 performances, and engaging with about 290,000 fans.
SUGA kicked off the Seoul performance with the title songs of the Agust D trilogy series from his solo album 'D-DAY', such as 'Haegeum', 'Daechwita', and 'Agust D'. He then performed 'give it to me' before addressing the audience, saying, "It's finally the last day of my first solo tour, 'D-DAY'. I've prepared a lot for today's performance. I hope you fully enjoy it".
SUGA changed the atmosphere with an acoustic version of 'Trivia 轉 : Seesaw', accompanying it with a sweet guitar performance. The stage was emotionally colored as he sang 'SDL', 'People', 'People Pt.2 (feat. IU)'. His setlist then ramped up the heat with 'Moonlight', 'Burn It', 'Interlude: Shadow', 'BTS Cypher PT.3: KILLER', 'BTS Cypher 4', 'UGH!', 'Ddaeng', and 'HUH?!'.
SUGA delivered a passionate rendition of 'Life Goes On' while playing the piano. The stage for 'Snooze', which was completed in collaboration with the late Sakamoto Ryuichi, left a lingering impression as it captured their first meeting in a VCR. SUGA continued to breathe with the audience through explosive performances, performing all songs live with a band, even at the Seoul stop of his world tour, and the audience reciprocated with ceaseless applause and cheers.
At the end of the concert on the 25th, SUGA shared, "Thank you for gifting me the best time. I've had happy and good memories over these two months since releasing the album and starting the tour at the end of April. The next time I step onto the stage, I'll be with all seven members." He then made a surprise announcement that he will be holding an encore concert 'SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' THE FINAL' at KSPO DOME (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Songpa-gu, Seoul from August 4th to 6th. He then closed the Seoul performance with 'Intro: Never Mind' and 'The Last'.
At this Seoul concert, the stage focused on SUGA and Agust D's story before and after debut and at various turning points. A setlist that showcased SUGA's evolution as a musician, a unique structure encapsulating the history of Agust D trilogy, all shined brightly. Particularly, on the first day of the Seoul concert, Psy made a surprise guest appearance and performed 'That That (prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS)' with SUGA, creating a cheerful stage.
The various VCRs displayed throughout the concert captivated the audience, and the stage's changing form with the flow of time, ultimately losing its shape, symbolized an artist burning passionately and finally returning to their original state, 'D-DAY'.
