BTS's Jimin Dominates Billboard Charts, Paving New History as the 'Pride of K-pop'
BTS's Jimin is making new history on the American Billboard charts, demonstrating long-term chart power.
As of June 24th, Jimin's "Like Crazy" climbed 18 spots from the previous week to reach the 34th position on the Billboard 'Global 200' chart. This makes it the highest-ranking K-pop solo track ever, maintaining a position on the chart for 12 consecutive weeks.
"Like Crazy" set a record as the first Korean solo song to stay in the top 10 for three consecutive weeks after making its debut at No. 2, achieving the highest-ever sales in the first week for a Korean solo artist.
On the 'Global (Excluding US)' chart, it climbed from No. 33 last week to No. 18 this week, marking a three-week consecutive rise. Meanwhile, on the 'Billboard World Album' chart, his album 'FACE' ranks 9th this week, maintaining its position in the top 10 for 12 straight weeks, following a record four-week stint at No.1 for a Korean solo album.
On the 'Pop Airplay' chart, which ranks the most popular pop music played on American radio stations for 40-somethings, it climbed to the 37th spot. The 'Fast & Furious 10' OST album, which made its debut at No. 1 on the 'Soundtrack' chart, continues its top 10 streak for the fourth week in a row, currently at No. 9.
Earlier, Jimin made history in Korean music by topping the Billboard 'Hot 100' with "Like Crazy," managing to enter the 'Hot 100' charts with a total of four songs for a record-breaking eight weeks this year. This week, BTS's 'Take Two' climbed to No. 48, making Jimin the only artist to chart four solo songs and one group song within just over five months.
Meanwhile, Jimin, the only Korean artist to top the 'Hot 100' as both a solo artist and group member, continues to make dazzling strides as a pop icon of the 21st century. Starting with 'Set Me Free Pt 2' reaching No. 30 on the main single chart, he has managed to enter the Billboard charts for 13 consecutive weeks with 'FACE' and 'Like Crazy' in five categories, 'Angel Part 1' in seven categories, making a total of 13 entries this week.
