In the wake of the successful "Born Pink World Tour" concert in Sydney, members of the renowned K-pop group Blackpink will be taking a brief two-week hiatus. This decision comes amidst increasing concerns about the band members' health as the rigorous demands of the tour appear to take a toll.

YG Entertainment, Blackpink's agency, confirmed the break following the Australian leg of the group's tour. A spokesperson from YG stated, "After the Australia tour, there is a break period. The members are also preparing harder to finish the final Sydney performance on the Australian tour."

Following the interlude, Blackpink will headline the BST Hyde Park festival in London on July 2, before moving on to the next stage of their world tour in Paris, France, starting July 15.

The decision to pause comes on the heels of a recent health scare for Blackpink member Jennie. During their Melbourne concert, Jennie was unable to finish the performance due to physical discomfort. The rapper-vocalist had to withdraw mid-performance, leaving the stage to the other members - Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé.

YG Entertainment issued an update on Jennie's health via Weverse, a fan-artist community platform. In the statement, Jennie expressed regret at not being able to complete the performance and promised fans a swift recovery. Following medical advice, Jennie sat out the second day of the Melbourne concert despite her desire to perform.

Jennie also took to Instagram Stories to apologize to her fans for her premature exit. She is set to return for the Sydney leg of the Australian tour this weekend.

Earlier in June, another group member, Jisoo, had to sit out tour stops in Osaka after testing positive for COVID-19. After a week-long recovery, Jisoo was spotted at the Gimpo airport, ready to continue with the tour. Jisoo assured fans of her well-being on Weverse, adding she missed Blinks - Blackpink's official fandom.

The announcement of the hiatus has evoked supportive responses from fans. Many expressed understanding and concern for the health of the band members. "Their health is paramount," tweeted one fan, while another added, "[I] love you, Nini. [T]ake all the rest you need."

The "Born Pink World Tour" is set to resume in July, with stops in Paris, New Jersey, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
