Twice Lights Up SoFi Stadium: First Female Group to Sell Out World's Most Expensive Venue
The South Korean girl group, Twice, has created history by becoming the first female group to sell out a performance at the iconic SoFi Stadium in the United States, winning over a crowd of 50,000.
Comprised of members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu, Twice kickstarted their fifth world tour, 'TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR 'READY TO BE'' in Los Angeles at the SoFi Stadium on June 10th.
Their historic solo concert garnered a whopping 50,000 spectators, setting a new record as the first female group to make a sold-out debut at the SoFi Stadium, thus highlighting their growing global presence.
[Talented]
Twice's ability to engage audiences with a mix of genres and concepts throughout the tour fueled their ticket sales. Their performance at SoFi opened with the dazzling title track 'SET ME FREE' from their twelfth mini album 'READY TO BE', shining at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200, and the global fan favorite 'I CAN'T STOP ME'.
All nine members stunned the audience with their charismatic choreography and delivered a range of emotive performances, including their Billboard 'Hot 100' English single 'MOONLIGHT SUNRISE' and the special fan-favorite 'Feel Special'.
The group's varied talent was showcased through solo stages which roused cheers from their fans. The variety of performances - piano solos, self-composed songs, cover performances - allowed each member to display their boundless talents and charisma, inciting explosive reactions from the crowd.
[Wide]
The SoFi Stadium, touted as the most expensive stadium in the world, prides itself on its vast size and scale. Prior to Twice, globally recognized musicians such as The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Weeknd had graced its stage.
The sight of SoFi Stadium packed with Twice's fans was truly astonishing. A wave of fan support, complete with 'Candy Bongs' (Twice's light sticks), illuminated the venue, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
[Iconic]
The fans in Los Angeles showed their immense love for Twice, with many donning homemade clothing inspired by Twice's previous outfits or merchandise. The entire concert felt like a festive gathering, further fueled by the fans' passionate dance-off during the audience dance time.
[Confident]
Throughout the show, Twice confidently engaged with fans, making eye contact and encouraging responses in English. They expressed their happiness at performing at SoFi Stadium and thanked their fans, promising a swift return.
[Excellent]
Twice has made good on their promise to continue achieving new feats as Twice. Their recent record-breaking sales of over one million albums in the U.S. and their fifth world tour have sustained their global growth.
Their debut concert at SoFi Stadium, a venue more than four times larger than the KIA Forum where their first U.S. solo concert was held, is predicted to propel Twice to new heights.
The group will continue to make history as they tour Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Atlanta. The MetLife Stadium performance in New York on July 6th has already sold out, even after two rounds of additional seat openings. With such immense support, the world is eagerly awaiting Twice's next global move.
