SHINee Celebrates 15th Debut Anniversary, A Complete Return After Military Duties: New Album? Brace Yourselves, It's Going to be Intense!
K-pop group SHINee marks their 15th debut anniversary today, May 25 (KST).
After a long hiatus due to the members' military enlistments, SHINee makes a long-awaited return as a complete group, solidifying their status as "military service completed idols" following Taemin's discharge last month.
Reflecting on their 15-year journey, Onew expressed, "The past 15 years have flown by incredibly fast. I feel both amazed and proud as we've experienced and tackled many things as SHINee during that time."
Key also shared his feelings about the anniversary, remarking, "Our 15th debut anniversary, it's truly surreal that this day has come." Minho confessed, "It may sound cliché, but it doesn't feel real. I am simply thankful and happy that the dream I started in high school continues to this day."
Taemin showed excitement about their upcoming comeback, "It's exciting to be looking forward to a comeback after such a long time. Every time I hear about our 15th anniversary, I am taken by surprise... When did time pass like this?"
The members attribute SHINee's enduring popularity to their sincerity. Onew asserted, "All the members always put their heart and soul into everything they do," while Minho mentioned, "People appreciate our commitment to always give our best. SHINee is a group that truly pours everything into our performances on stage."
Key believes that "the expectations associated with the name 'SHINee' drives us all to keep striving," while Taemin thanked their loyal fans, saying "I believe our fans cherish us, much like a cherished memory from their school days."
When asked about what defines 'SHINee's uniqueness,' the members emphasized the harmony created by the members' distinct personalities, likening it to a rainbow.
To celebrate their 15th debut anniversary, SHINee is hosting a solo fan meeting, 'Everyday is SHINee Day: Piece of SHINee,' on the 27th and 28th at Jamsil Indoor Stadium. This fan meeting will be the first in nearly four years and eight months since their last one in September 2018. Minho is particularly excited about the Q&A session with fans, saying "I am curious to know what they are curious about."
To commemorate their 15th year, SHINee plans to release their eighth full album within the second quarter of this year, after a hiatus of over two years. The members left hints, saying "Brace yourselves, it's going to be intense!", "A solid and robust SHINee", "The new SHINee."
SHINee, who debuted on May 25, 2008, with 'Replay,' has established themselves as an indispensable contemporary band, setting trends in music, performance, and fashion that best align with the times. With their solid skills and unique musical world, they have created numerous hit songs such as 'Love Like Oxygen,' 'Juliette,' 'Ring Ding Dong,' 'Lucifer,' 'Sherlock,' 'Dream Girl,' 'Everybody,' 'View,' '1 of 1,' 'Don't Call Me,' etc. As a group and as solo artists, they continue to capture the unwavering love of music fans worldwide.
