NewJeans' 'OMG' Music Video Surpasses 100 Million Views
NewJeans' music video for "OMG" has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube.
According to their agency ADOR, on the 14th, the performance version of "OMG", the title track of NewJeans' (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) single album, exceeded 100 million views on YouTube as of the 13th. This achievement came just 130 days after the video was released on January 3rd, marking the quickest record for NewJeans.
This is the second time a music video by NewJeans has hit 100 million views. Their debut song "Hype boy" performance video reached this milestone in 255 days after release. With "OMG" accomplishing the same in just around 4 months (125 days), it confirms NewJeans' rapid growth.
"OMG" is a bouncy and fun hip hop R&B track that blends hip hop drum sources and percussion with UK garage and trap rhythms. The performance version of the music video for "OMG" highlights NewJeans' unique styling and trendy choreography, maximizing the charm of the five members and adding to the joy of watching and listening.
Upon its release, alongside "Ditto" from the same album, it swept charts both domestically and internationally. It immediately seized the first and second places on major domestic music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs. Including their debut song "Hype boy", they made a great record of sweeping the top three spots on Melon for three consecutive months (January to March). They continue to maintain high chart positions, keeping the momentum going.
In addition, "OMG" and "Ditto" proved their global popularity by simultaneously entering the American Billboard "Hot 100". "OMG" and "Ditto" reached their highest positions of 74 and 82, respectively, on the chart dated February 28th, while each staying on the chart for 6 and 5 weeks. On Spotify's recently released Global "Weekly Top Songs" chart (dated May 11th), "OMG" is at 50th and "Ditto" at 142nd, maintaining their strong performance for over four months.
Meanwhile, NewJeans will hold their first fan meeting, "Bunnies Camp", on July 1st and 2nd, giving them the opportunity to meet their fans.
