'Radio Star' Defends Kim Goo Ra Against Allegations Of Bad Behavior Towards Guests
Radio Star has finally spoken after the controversial post of Nam Hee Seok criticizing Kim Goo Ra for his unimpressive gestures as host in the show.
On July 29, Nam hee Seok posted in his Facebook account, saying that it seems Kim Goo Ra doesn't like to be in the show. He sits on his chair and then turns his back to his guest and shows a frown on his face. The veteran comedian also noted that the host's behavior is obscene and unprofessional, especially when guesting novice guests. The Facebook post is now deleted.
Nam Hee Seok made a follow-up post on July 30, after hearing rumors that he deleted the statement because his claims are not real. The comedian said that the said post did not come just out of the blue. He has been thinking about the issue after keen observation in the past few years.
The veteran comedian also noted that rookie comedians who went to the show as guests following breakout success come to him after being humiliated on the show and losing their self-esteem.
On July 31, the producers of Radio Star has finally released a statement regarding the issue between Nam Hee Seok and Kim Goo Ra. It says in the statement that they are voicing out because they want to respond to the reports about Radio Star host- Kim Goo Ra to clear up misunderstandings.
The Host Is Trying
The producers claim that Kim Goo Ra is trying his best for his guest, although it doesn't show on the program. The host is considerate towards the guest before, during, and after filming, and he is very attentive. "The Kim Goo Ra we've seen isn't a host who is rude towards the guests."
Understand Kim Goo Ra's Character As Host
The statement also said that they would be grateful if viewers will appreciate and understand the way Kim Goo Ra appears on the program in his character.
The producers expressed that long time viewers know that each host in the program has their different characters. They elaborated that the host's role in the show gives guests opportunities through several methods, such as asking follow-up questions or creating situations.
It Is Kim Goo Ra Who Wants Comedians As Guests
The statement also revealed that Kim Goo Ra is the one who keeps suggesting to the production team about casting the comedians.
The team mentioned that those who appear on the show are the ones Kim Goo Ra recommended. He wants to know what junior comedians are up to, and he suggests that they will give them the chance to become more well-known through Radio Star.
The Show's Limited-Time Slot
Finally, on the production team's statement, they said that there are parts in the interview cut in the airing because of the show's limited time. Like any variety shows, there's an editing process to make the episode more attractive to the viewers.
They expressed that the editing is done for the viewer's entertainment, and the entirety of the MC Kim Goo Ra is not shown as his.
