Troubles on Set: Park Eun-bin's Diva of the Deserted Island' and Park Bo-gum, IU's Drama Face Controversy Before Airing
Actress Park Eun-bin's upcoming work "Diva of the Deserted Island" and the drama "You Have Done Well" (literal title), also known as "I was Fooled" starring Park Bo-gum and IU have been mired in controversy since their filming stages.
Last month, a post titled "Nuisance caused by the filming of a drama at the Gochang Barley Festival" was published on a popular online community. According to the post, the author visited the Gochang Barley Festival on Appril 19 and tried to enter a canola flower field, but was stopped by drama staff who claimed they were "filming."
The staff even yelled "don't take pictures" when the author tried to photograph the canola flowers from another path. The author expressed their dissatisfaction, saying, "Can't tourists take photos in the canola flower field? They were filming far away, but can't we take pictures of the flowers?"
The author further complained, "It's not right to block the entrance, not just the area near the filming. It's as if they rented the entire place for filming at 4 p.m. when there were many tourists. It's a festival for everyone to enjoy, but the actual visitors were only watching the filming and left with bad feelings. If I knew they would control it so much because of the filming, I wouldn't have gone. I spent time and money to make good memories, but it was all ruined."
Later, it was revealed that the drama in question was "You Have Done Well." On April 28th, the production company Pan Entertainment apologized, stating, "We sincerely apologize to the citizens who experienced inconvenience. We tried to minimize the inconvenience during the process of ensuring safe filming and preventing spoiler leaks, but we apologize once again for not paying closer attention to the visitors who took precious time to come. We express our deep gratitude to the citizens who understood the filming, and we will strive to be more cautious during the filming process in the future."
On the 30th of last month, an issue arose at the filming site of the "Diva of the Deserted Island," known as Park Eun-bin's drama. A man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, threw a brick at the drama set, injuring female staff member B.
According to the police on April 30th, the Hyehwa Police Station in Seoul booked Mr. A for throwing a brick at the drama set in Changsin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, at around 3:25 a.m. on the 26th, causing injury to female staff B. The police arrested Mr. A around 4 a.m. the same day. B was taken to the hospital immediately after the incident and received treatment. Fortunately, it was reported that she did not suffer any major injuries.
The police are investigating the circumstances and motives behind Mr. A throwing the brick. Mr. A reportedly told the police during the investigation, "I did it because I was annoyed by the light and noise."
The 'Desert Island Diva' team said, "We will be more careful on the set in the future," and added, "The case has not yet been concluded. The investigation is still ongoing."
