BLACKPINK Breaks Records: Highest-Grossing World Tour with $78.5 Million in Revenue
Global powerhouse group BLACKPINK has demonstrated their immense influence by earning the highest revenue in world tour history.
According to a recent announcement by US concert ticket analysis site Touring Data, BLACKPINK's world tour 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]', which began in Seoul last October, recorded a revenue of approximately $78.5 million (approximately KRW 104.6 billion). This result comes from performing in 18 cities and 26 shows.
With this, BLACKPINK has become the group with the highest revenue from a single tour worldwide. They broke the record previously held by the legendary British group Spice Girls, who had earned about $78.2 million (approximately KRW 104.2 billion) from 13 shows in 2019.
Following them, American R&B trio TLC ranked third with their 2000 tour ($72.8 million), Destiny's Child ranked fourth with their 2004 tour ($70.8 million), and Spice Girls' 2008 tour ($70 million) ranked fifth. BLACKPINK's first tour, 'BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR [IN YOUR AREA]', also reached the 7th place in history with $56.75 million (approximately KRW 75.7 billion) in revenue.
BLACKPINK has attracted approximately 360,000 audience members worldwide through this tour, and it is still ongoing.
With this record, BLACKPINK has once again proven their global influence. They previously participated as headliners in two performances at the 'Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival,' the largest local music festival held in Indio, California, on the 15th and 22nd (local time). BLACKPINK, the first Korean artist to become a headliner, captivated the world with their overwhelming performances.
