Late Seo Se-won's Body to Return to Korea: Will the True Cause of Death Be Revealed?'
The body of the late Seo Se-won, who passed away in Cambodia, is expected to be transported back to Korea.
Seo Se-won died of cardiac arrest on the afternoon of the 20th after receiving an IV drip at a Korean hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He was 67 years old.
Although it was known that he had suffered from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, the exact cause of his death remains unclear, raising various suspicions.
A temporary funeral home was set up locally, but there had been no significant progress in the repatriation process to Korea. High transportation costs have been a significant obstacle.
Seo's body is currently cryogenically preserved at a temple in Phnom Penh.
According to News1 on the 25th, it has been reported that the bereaved family is currently in the process of transporting the body. Local medical officials say Seo Se-won's body will be moved to Korea without cremation.
As a result, an autopsy is expected to be conducted immediately. All eyes are on whether the exact cause of Seo Se-won's death will be revealed.
Seo Se-won made his debut in the entertainment industry after participating in a TBC radio gag contest in 1979.
From the 1990s, he solidified his position in the industry by hosting numerous talk shows such as 'Sunday Sunday Night' and 'Seo Se-won Show.'
However, he stopped his activities in the entertainment industry due to various controversies such as embezzling movie production funds and overseas gambling. In 2012, he converted to Protestantism and became a pastor, engaging in ministry activities.
In 2014, the issue of him repeatedly assaulting his ex-wife, Seo Jung-hee, surfaced, causing a scandal. The release of the assault CCTV footage shocked society. Seo Se-won was eventually prosecuted and received a six-month prison sentence with a two-year probation.
A year after the divorce, in 2016, he remarried a 23-year younger performer, Kim Mo, and had a daughter. He later settled in Cambodia.
Recently, his activities at a church in Cambodia were revealed through a YouTube channel.
