BLACKPINK Makes History as First K-Pop Headliners at Coachella Festival Today
BLACKPINK (Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa) is set to perform as the first-ever South Korean headliners at the US Coachella Festival.
According to their agency, YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK will appear at the "Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival" on April 16, based on Korean Standard Time.
As the first K-pop artist to be headliners, BLACKPINK is expected to leave a significant mark on the global music scene.
Meanwhile, according to the latest YouTube chart (2023.04.07-2023.04.13) announced on the 16th, member Jisoo's solo album title track "Flower" ranked first in the Global YouTube Songs Top 100 chart. This is the second consecutive week it has held the top position.
Jisoo also secured second place in the most-watched music videos worldwide category, maintaining her position in the top ranks for the second consecutive week.
"Flower" has been making a splash in various global charts as well, not just on YouTube. It entered the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global Chart, and the UK Official Singles Top 100 chart at 6th and 38th place, respectively. The song has set a new record for K-pop female solo artists and continues its strong performance for two consecutive weeks.
In the US Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S charts, "Flower" secured the 2nd position.
