Sung Hanbin Holds Top Spot on 'Boys Planet' as Top 9 Finalists Emerge
Sung Hanbin has solidified his position as the top contender on Mnet's K-pop boy group debut project, "Boys Planet."
The final surviving contestants were revealed on the April 13th episode of the show, which aims to create a fifth-generation K-pop boy group. The top nine contestants who will symbolize the debut group were announced during the broadcast.
Seok Matthew secured ninth place, followed by Lee Huitaek in tenth. The eighth spot went to Ricky, who expressed his amazement and disbelief at being in the top nine. He promised to show growth on the final stage.
Kim Gyubin claimed seventh place, having climbed an impressive nine spots from his previous ranking. He thanked fans for their support and vowed to prove why he deserved to debut through the final performance.
Keita rose to sixth place, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to perform in the finals. Han Yujin secured fifth place and thanked fans for their support since the show's beginning.
The fourth spot went to Kim Taerae, who rose three spots and thanked fans for their unwavering support. He promised to repay them with improved skills during the final performance.
Only the top three spots remained, with huge benefits awaiting the first-place winner, including the debut title track's "killing part" qualification and a solo song on the debut album. The top three candidates were Kim Jiwoong, Sung Hanbin, and Zhang Hao.
Kim Jiwoong was announced as the third-place contestant, expressing gratitude and honor for being able to provide comfort and happiness to someone. The much-anticipated first place went to Sung Hanbin, with Zhang Hao coming in second.
Sung Hanbin, upon securing first place, thanked fans for their support and asked for their continued encouragement as he strives to shine even brighter. Zhang Hao, finishing in second place, expressed gratitude and happiness, pledging to stay strong until the end.
The contestants who managed to continue their debut challenge were Lee Huitaek in 10th place, followed by Park Hanbin, Park Geonwook, Jay, Yoo Seungyeon, Yoon Jongwoo, Geum Junhyeon, Lee Junghyun, and Na Camden.
