Psy's 'That That' Featuring BTS SUGA Gets More Than 50 Million YouTube Views Within 75 Hours Of Release
Psy continues to prove why he is such a sensation with his latest single "That That". The singer who first got international stardom with the release of the worldwide viral sensation "Gangnam Style", released in 2012, and which has recently surpassed more than 4.4 Billion YouTube views, continues to prove that he knows the pulse of the crowd.
Now, the South Korean singer achieved another feat with "That That". The song surpassed 50 million views on YouTube within 75 hours of the music video's release. In fact, the mv had earned over 30 million views within 24 hours of release.
On the same day that the music video for the song was dropped on YouTube, Psy's agency P Nation also released the behind-the-scenes video taken during its shoot. In the video, the super sensation singer could be seen at work with the dancers as well as acting with BTS's SUGA. The clip captured the easy camaraderie, professional chemistry, and playful friendship between the two megastars. In fact, Yoongi had recently mentioned that Psy is like his bestie, though he is so much senior.
This is the first time that Psy and SUGA have collaborated on a song. Recently, PSY disclosed on an episode of "Knowing Bros (Ask Us Anything)" that it was Yoongi who got in touch with him for the track. He reportedly received a text message from an unknown number, which said that it was SUGA and that the K-pop idol wanted to talk to Psy about something. Following the interaction, the two artists met up.
During the meeting, SUGA told Psy that he wanted to top off his producing project by giving the latter a song. That's how Yoongi brought Psy the instrumental for "That That" and the former is the one who produced the beat. After some more back and forths, the song took its current shape and SUGA also ended up featuring in the music video.
The track is from the album "PSY 9th", which was released on Friday. The album has numerous celebrity collaborations, in addition to the one with SUGA.
Meanwhile, not long after the song's release, it already rose to the top of iTunes charts in various countries. The song was No.1 on the list of iTunes Top Songs in at least 73 nations, including the USA, Canada, and Japan. The album also rose to no.1 on iTunes Top Albums in various countries.
