BTS: Jungkook Makes First Solo Entry In Billboard Hot 100 With OST 'Stay Alive'
BTS's golden maknae Jungkook has scored his first solo entry on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 with the OST "Stay Alive".
The song is the official soundtrack of the Bangtan Boys webtoon "7 Fates: Chakho", and has been produced by fellow bandmate SUGA.
Jungkook is now the fourth member of the mega k-pop band to achieve a solo entry on the chart.
Ahead of this week's Hot 100 charts release, Billboard took to Twitter to announce that "Stay Alive" was all set to make its debut on the No. 95 spot of the upcoming chart. In the tweet, Billboard also acknowledged that Jungkook is the fourth BTS member of BTS to bag a solo entry on the chart.
Billboard also revealed in a different announcement that the OST also debuted on the Global Excl. U.S. chart in the Top 10 for the February 19 week. The song entered at No. 8.
"Stay Alive" is only the second OST from a Korean soloist to score on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The feat was last achieved by fellow BTS band member V whose OST "Christmas Tree" entered the chart at No. 79 on release.
The youngest member of BTS, Jungkook is now the only artist in the world to dominate the iTunes chart in 106 countries with two solo songs. The "7 Fates: Chakho" OST reached the milestone in just 11 days of release, which makes it the fastest solo song to score the No. 1 rank on the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 106 regions.
Meanwhile, the next two months are going to be busy for BTS, much to the excitement and happiness of ARMY worldwide. The Bangtan Boys have two concerts lined up on two continents. In March, BTS will host the offline "Permission to Dance on Stage" concert in the South Korean capital of Seoul.
In April, the nine K-pop megastars will travel to the United States to host four shows for the "Permission to Dance on Stage" concert in Las Vegas.
The concert will be a four-night residency in Las Vegas's Allegiant Stadium. BTS will play out to the 65,000 capacity stadium on April 8-9 and April 15-16. All four shows will have a live broadcast as a live play event at the Garden Arena of MGM Grand. The April 16 show will also have worldwide online streaming.
