BOTOPASS Delays Debut Due To Members' Recent Bullying Controversy
The newcomer girl group BOTOPASS announced the postponement of their debut due to Shin Minah's bullying claims.
BOTOPASS consists of eight members in which three of them are members of the former girl group ILUV. As reported by Allkpop, Shin Minah came forward, revealing that co-members bullied her when she was still an ILUV member, and the girl group's label WKS ENE denied the claims.
On July 24, BOTOPASS's agency released an announcement regarding the status of the group's debut plans, via Soompi. The agency said that they are sorry to covey the unfortunate news to the fans who have been waiting for BOTOPASS to debut.
The agency continued that before BOTOPASS's debut, groundless rumors have spread regarding the former members of ILUV who are now members of BOTOPASS. The agency shared that the members currently involved in the issue are all having a hard time.
The ridiculous claims thrown to the three of their members, the agency said, also affected the rest of the group. And now, the rest of the group is going through a difficult time.
The agency also expressed that the girls are currently experiencing mental shock, which has led to physical symptoms. And with this situation, the label is asking consideration to the fans.
They further expressed that they decided to postpone the debut because they thought the treatment and recovery of their talents are their top priorities for now.
"We will do our best to prove the innocence of our agency's artists while also presenting their fans with great debut performance that will meet their expectations," wrote WKS ENE.
However, the mother of Shin Minah also posted a message on her daughter's Instagram bearing unfortunate news. She noted that Minah collapsed and was taken to the emergency room.
Minah's mother also requested the people to stop leaving malicious comments and making speculations about her daughter.
