Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won Talk About Reuniting In ‘Flower Of Evil’ + Shares Their Fears And Expectations
Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won express their thoughts about their reunion for the upcoming mystery drama "Flower of Evil" since their pairing in 2017's "Criminal Minds."
A press conference was broadcasted via YouTube Live on July 22 about the upcoming tvN Wednesday-Thursday drama. As reported by Soompi, it was revealed on the telecast that the two stars Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won would be playing as a married couple Baek Hee Sung and Cha Ji Won.
Baek Hee Sung will pretend to love his wife to protect his past, and while doing so, his detective wife- Cha Ji Won, begins to grow suspicious of her husband and begins uncovering the truth.
During the press conference, the "Flower of Evil" director Kim Chul Gyu described the new series as a romantic drama full of mystery. It is a complete package of many shocking incidents and thrilling scenes.
The thrilling drama series is Lee Joon Gi's return to the small screen after his last starring role in "Lawless Lawyer." He shared that he felt a lot of pressure, especially when he first read the script and said that it wouldn't be easy.
Reading the script made him think a lot about whether he can convey the feeling required for his character, like the considerable persistence and pain of hiding the truth. He called Moon Chae Won immediately when he received the offer for the role.
Moon Chae Won told him that the character is very charming, and he should take up the challenge of stepping into his shoes, and that became the reason he accepted the role and met the director.
The actor revealed that he is nervous and excited to show how he will present his character. "All actors are scared in every project about things like copying their previous roles. I think I probably thought of these things because I've done many projects already, and I'm trying to forget my roles in the past and focus on the new one."
Meanwhile, the drama marks Moon Chae Won's television comeback after starring in "Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter" two years ago.
Chae Won said that she finally found a role that she wanted to do for the first time, plus it is a bonus that she will be working again with Lee Joon Gi. She commits to doing her best while feeling a lot of affection for the drama that she may wrap up everything well.
The two stars talked about working again together after three years since "Criminal Minds." Lee Joon Gi shared that he was excited and nervous, and he thinks about what kind of chemistry they can serve to the audience, what kind of emotions they could create, and how they can satisfy the viewers.
Moon Chae Won noted that this is her first time to act as a wife and a mother, but since she's performing it with Lee Joon Gi, she said that they are destined to reunite in a project.
