K-Pop Latest News And Issues: Korean Media Outlet Says TXT Is The ‘Next BTS’
K-pop boy band TXT became the main topic of Star News 'FOCUS,' regarding TXT as the ''Next BTS'' and also the Representative of K-pop's Fourth Generation.
Star News Focus, the Korean media outlet's segment of centering the topic on the lives and recent situations of Korean celebrities. The outlet took notes of the group's past accomplishments and the strategy that put them on the right track to become the next BTS.
Tomorrow X Together, commonly known as TXT is a five-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Music. The group is composed of five members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai, which debuted on March 4, 2019, with the EP 'The Dream Chapter: Star.'
Just a few months after they debuted, TXT won a rookie award at the 2019 Asia Artist Awards. They made an outstanding performance at the event, showcasing their incredible singing and dancing skills.
The album debuted and peaked at number one on the Gaon Album Chart and Billboard 200 at number 140. TXT became the highest-charting debut album by any male K-pop group at that time. TXT also received three music show trophies with their debut song 'Crown.'
The album's lead single 'Crown' debuted atop the World Digital Songs with Tomorrow X Together topping the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart. And because of this, they became the fastest K-pop group to appear in World Digital Songs and the second-fastest K-pop group to appear in the Billboard Emerging Artist.
Moreover, TXT became the first-ever K-pop boy group to rank No. 1 on the US iTunes Top Album Chart with 'The Dream Chapter: Star.' Following their debut in 2019, the group earned the titles of 'a newcomer from Big Hit' and 'BTS's younger brothers.'
TXT's upcoming second studio album 'The Chaos Chapter: Freeze,' is already making headlines ahead of its comeback.
On May 7, the group's album distributor YG PLUS announced that the stock pre-orders for TXT's second studio album has exceeded, 520,000 as of May 5, making the group a half million-seller. In the K-pop industry, expectations were high on the rookie's group performance.
Over the years, the boy band TXT slowly showcased itspotential of becoming the next big thing in K-pop. But the boy band TXT has a long way to go to becoming the 'next BTS.' It still takes a long time to reach tremendous popularity.
Tomorrow X Together is expected to take steps to further solidify their position as the ''Next BTS'' and one of the best groups of K-pop's fourth generation.
