GFRIEND's Umji To Take A Break Due To Health Issue
GFRIEND's Umji was said to be stepping out from GFRIEND's promotional activities due to a recently sustained leg injury.
On December 13, Sunday, GFRIEND Umji's managing label released an official announcement concerning her temporary break from the group's operational activities. This announcement was made after Umji received a medical recommendation for her leg injury.
In the released statement, Source Music notified the fans and the public that Umji will indeed be taking a break from GFRIEND's promotional activities due to health reasons. Umji recently visited the hospital to seek appropriate treatment for the unbearable pain in her leg, which turned out to be a damaged leg and tendon.
Due to this, the attending Doctor advised the young K-pop idol to take the time she needs to recuperate completely because forcing her to work will add to the stress and pain of her leg injury. Source Music decided to have Umji on leave to focus on her healing, to which the agency ask for the fans' understanding.
Furthermore, Source Music announced that the remaining members would still move forward with their schedules as planned. Umji will be advised to work soon once she fully recovered, and when the assessment result from the doctor is cleared.
Moreover, the agency apologized for announcing such a piece of unfortunate news in the time for the group to be completed for the year-end ceremonies. Source Music concluded that they prioritize more the health and safety of their artists over anything else.
Fans are worried after the announcement was made concerning the health issue of GFRIEND's Umji. Some fans are taking it on their social media sites to wish Umji a speedy recovery and remind her to take the time she needs, and avoid rushing herself to come back for GFRIEND's promotional activities.
