Big Hit Labels, C-Jes Entertainment And Music Works Artists Cancel Plans For In-Person Concerts
The surge of cases for COVID 19 in South Korea is now in an uncontrollable state. The unprecedented spread somehow has led to growing social concerns.
With this, several artists have canceled their plans for in-person concerts at the end of the year. This aims to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of the artists and fans.
Music Works Cancel's Baek Ji Young's Activities
Recently, Baek Ji Young planned for a national tour of concerts in Busan, Gwangju, Seoul, Seongnam, and Ilsan. However, due to the growing number of coronavirus cases in the country, she has canceled her plans.
As divulged by her agency, the concerts were always going to be held according to strict guidelines about infection transmission and with tight social distancing restrictions in place. However, due to the community's increase in the region, the agency decided it would be safest to cancel the concert.
C-Jes Entertainment Postpones Concerts Of Artists
Furthermore, C-JeS Entertainment announced on December 7 that Gummy, Noel, and EXID's Solji had all canceled their concerts scheduled to take place throughout South Korea.
As a result of the capital area raising social distancing restrictions to Level 2.5, the Seoul concerts were canceled first. The rules cover bans of significant events with more than 50 people.
The concerts planned in Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, Seongnam, Jeonju, and Changwon were also all canceled to comply with local restrictions in each region. Those who already purchased tickets for the concerts will receive refunds.
Moreover, the concert of Kim Na Young scheduled on December 25 and 26 are also canceled in light of increased social distancing restrictions.
The concert plans of the Trot artists Na Hoon Ah, Lee Seung Chul, and Ailee scheduled at the end of the year have also been canceled.
Meanwhile, the New Year's Eve concert of Big Hit Labels, which was initially intended to be both an online and offline event, will now be held online entirely.
