Shakira Takes Notice Of BLACKPINK Rose After Singing ‘Waka Waka’ On ‘Ask Us Anything’
BLACKPINK was the guest on the October 18 episode of JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything” show, where Rose sang Shakira’s hit “Waka Waka” and was credited for her effort from the Latin Singer.
Although Rose only sang a few verses of the song, the Latin descent singer Shakira took notice of the BLACKPINK’s performance and shared on her social media. The Latin singer posted a video with a caption saying, “Oh wow, I loved seeing you do that! Super Cute! Thanks Rose,” and ending it with “P.S. Love your hair!”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK revealed on JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything” why the group has no acting leader. Lisa then explained that all four members have specific roles and strengths that they give to the group and felt that a leader is not needed due to the members being good at something.
Lisa stated that she takes the main dancer role and is in-charge of anything dance-related to BLACKPINK. Jennie is the one who initiates things, Rose takes care of the little details due to her meticulous nature, and Jisoo being the oldest, takes care of the hard decision for the group.
Also, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk revealed his decision for not assigning a leader for BLACKPINK during the group’s debut album, “Square One.” The founder stated that he wanted all four members of BLACKPINK to speak in an equal position.
BLACKPINK is the first girl group from YG Entertainment to debut without a leader. Yang Hyun Suk also wonders if the absence of a leader could have a positive effect on the girl group.
Also, Jennie told in an interview that BLACKPINK has no leader is due to their friendship and trust for each other. She added that the four of them were close friends since their trainee days and their boss did not felt to rank their friendship.
